How does the 50/30/20 budget work?
BudjetBuddy splits your income into three buckets: 50% for needs, 30% for wants and 20% for savings. Each expense you log lands in its bucket, and a live health score tells you whether you're on track. You can adjust the split anytime in Settings.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. BudjetBuddy is local-first — your budget is stored on your device and works fully offline. Premium adds encrypted cloud backup that syncs automatically when you're online.
Is my financial data private?
Yes. Your data lives on your device by default and we never sell it. You can lock the app behind a PIN or biometrics, and cloud backup (Premium) is tied to your account only.
How does receipt scanning work?
Snap a photo of a receipt and BudjetBuddy reads the amount, merchant, date and a suggested category, then pre-fills the expense for you to review before saving. It's a Premium feature.
I forgot my App Lock PIN. What now?
The App Lock PIN is stored only on your device and can't be recovered. Choose "Forgot PIN" on the lock screen — this turns App Lock off and signs you out, so you can sign back in with your account password and set a new PIN.
I forgot my account password.
On the sign-in screen choose "Forgot password". We'll email you a temporary password and prompt you to set a new one on your next sign-in.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently erases your account and all of your data on our servers. It cannot be undone.
